Talbot Partnership Hosts Second Training for Youth Coalition for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention

Talbot Partnership is sponsoring the second training program for Talbot County youth interested in participating in a Youth Coalition for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wye Oak Room at the Talbot Community Center on Rt. 50 in Easton. A trainer from Youth-to-Youth International will come to Easton and give Talbot County youth leaders a seminar on how to get started.

Following the training, Talbot Partnership will schedule an initial meeting for interested youth members to plan the program and activities for the Talbot Youth Coalition. The Coalition is based on a youth-to-youth leadership program which focuses on issues that teens are most likely to face: alcohol, drugs, peer pressure, sexuality, suicide, etc. The program stresses the development of leadership and includes a clear NO tobacco, alcohol, or any other drug at any time policy.

If you know of interested teens or need further information, contact Gary Pearce at Talbot Partnership, 410-819-8067 or gpearce@talbotpartnership.org.
