The second annual FLOWER & FLEA MARKET FESTIVAL

The second annual FLOWER & FLEA MARKET FESTIVAL to benefit Talbot Partnership for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention will take place on Saturday, May 7th from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Elk's Lodge on Dutchman's Lane in Easton.

Local merchants will be selling fresh cut and potted flowers, plants, and special Mother's Day gifts; community members will be offering flea market bargains.

In addition, the Festival will feature specialty foods, games and rides for children and youth, entertainment, a Chinese auction, and exciting door prizes.

The Grand Prize is an XBox and Kinect, valued at $400. Raffle tickets will be distributed in the community prior to the Festival, as well as on May 7th. The Grand Prize is sponsored by the Mike Marcell Memorial Fund.

Grand Prize raffle tickets will be given away at Denny's in Easton at a Jewelry Making for Kids event on March 24 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Children will work with local jewelry makers to create necklaces for someone special on Mother's Day. There is a fee for the workshop; children 10 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal.

Raffle tickets will also be given away at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Easton.

Other sponsors for this event include Chesapeake Publishing, WCEI, Benson & Mangold, Denny's, Hand Pro, Coffee Cat, and Bay Country Security.

Talbot Partnership, through its coalition, encourages the community to recognize the problems and implement solutions related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse by implementing policies, promoting early intervention programs and building a culture that favors a healthy, safe and drug-free community.
